Cellular Metabolism and Microenvironment Interactions in Health and Disease

Meeting Programme and Registration

Centro de Biología Molecular (Madrid)
C. Nicolás Cabrera, 1, Fuencarral-El Pardo, 28049 Madrid
March31 st -April1 st , 2025

The CellMet network invites you to a scientific meeting focused on the intricate relationship between cellular metabolismmetabolite production, and the modulation of the microenvironment, and how these processes drive the development of human diseases. This complex interplay is especially relevant in cancer, where tumor metabolic reprogramming fuels initiation, proliferation, and progression. Beyond cancer, these metabolic and microenvironmental interactions are central to inflammatory and immune-mediated diseases, including diabetes, and inflammatory bowel disease.

This meeting will bring together experts across multiple disciplines—metabolismautophagy, physiologybiochemistrybiologybiomedicine, and computational modeling—to explore how metabolic pathways and microenvironmental dynamics impact disease onset and progression. Sessions will cover topics ranging from mitochondrial dynamics and autophagy to preclinical models, with a focus on translating fundamental insights into diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. By fostering collaboration and innovation, the meeting aims to deepen our understanding of metabolic regulation in health and disease, from cellular processes to whole organisms, and across all life stages, including age-related conditions.
